Google Adsense Revenue
A year ago, my Adsense revenue, a very small part of my residual income, was less than $10 a month. Now, it’s consistently above $100 monthly … that once-distant payout threshold that seemed to take forever to break. It feels like quite an achievement to receive a payment from Google each month as opposed to once a year.
If I were to improve my Adsense earnings at the same rate in the next twelve months, I’d be seeing $1,000 a month in Adsense earnings next October. While this amount is one of my goals, I don’t know that it’s achievable in a one-year time frame, as I don’t foresee being able to multiply my efforts by ten times my current level.
Still, I do have plans to write content pages for each of my sites every week, and set up and add to my domains that are currently empty and awaiting blogs or html pages. Just today, I added Adsense code to pages on my much-neglected Site Build It website, and am curious to see how those ad units will perform.
There is incredible potential when monetizing sites with Google Adsense, alone or in conjunction with affiliate marketing when appropriate. I am inspired by successful webmasters who gross tens of thousands a year and even a month with this business model.
Earning money online can be a slow process, as it has been in the case of my Adsense earnings. But the trickle that comes in the beginning is just that, and as I keep reminding myself, those who recognize the potential and keep working at it will see long-term success.
Tell me about your experience with Adsense revenues — is it just a trickle of earnings at this point, or a mainstay of your income? Share your tips with those of us just getting off the ground.

Nice site and great work! Since joining Adsense I have made about $10 over the last 6 months which was from all of my friends….I’m doing my best to be patient. I would be happy to make a dollar a month at this rate. But thanks to you my ehow earnings have significantly increased as well. I started out making only 7 bucks a month, last month I made 30 and the number continue to rise as I made 8 yesterday. Thank you for all your help and keep up the great work!
Hey! Great topic starter! I personally am very new to using adsense, I’ve made all of my money online through network marketing and affiliate marketing. Right now, I’m trying to build a portfolio of adsense sites. I’ll keep you all posted. Does anybody have and tips or tricks that might help make a site adsense friendly?
The only thing i’ve found is to make the content boring, seo friendly, and place the ads in clear, easy to find spots. sounds kind of like a ‘no duh’, really. =)
Adsense eludes me … or maybe I am just on track as to where you once were – $100 a year! Now is that $100 a month on Adsense from just this blog or all of them combined – and how many is “all of them”.
It seems that you are definitely on the right track to developing a decent passive income … wishing you continued success.

I’m very flummoxed by Adsense, I mean why not just have targeted ads and make more money? The ads make sites look a bit boring and the click through rate is only around 0.5%!
I’d recommend split testing banner spaces and see what gets you the most cash
Nice blog btw, does it go really wide though on a monster wide monitor?
Maria, you are inspiration for all the Residual Income pursuers floating around the internet. I too have a goal, which is $1,000 dollars a month of residual income. I have linked you in my new website. I have just started Residual Bacon which will be a site much like this, but we are going to do reviews and interviews about ways that work and don’t in the passive income world, as well as tracking my goals.
Today I made 2.15 off adsense and have had it for 2 weeks. I am sure it was just kind of random, but I am curious of how you started and interested in your progress. Would you be interested in a review of your site to help my site gain content and momentum?
Keep up the stellar work, I hope you the best in your adsense endeavors.
I’ve learned an important thing about Google Adsense: the best place to put the ads is right below the header. I also discovered a fantastic tool for keeping blog posts compact so that the reader stays ever near those ads at the top of the blog. Here’s my article on increasing Google Adsense Income.
You’ve got a good looking blog!
I am just getting started with earning directly from Google Adsense. It will be very interesting to see where that goes on my new passive income blog. Prior experience has been indirect through ehow trying to maximize good keywords to attract the right ads on ehow and indirectly profit.
I like your blog – I’ll add you to my blogroll.
I really like hearing about your journey, especially since I just started blogging. I am really looking forward to more posts by you. Keep up the good work!
I keep putting off signing up for adsense. Learning new online methods all the time wears me out sometimes. I’m having fun making Squidoo lenses (over 80 now) so it would be good for me to get on board with adsense. I am using All Posters as an affiliate there to provide nice graphics and hopefully someday some commissions.
I have had google adsense on my blogs for the past year, and so far, I have earned a whopping $15. I attribute most of this to the fact that in that time I was just getting started learning about online passive income and blogging, and only now have I redirected my efforts. I am building some more niche sites right now, and would love to make payout by the end of the year! My focus is to keep learning and keep creating content that is SEO friendly.
I’ve had google adsense on my blog for about 2 months now and it’s not performing nearly as well as I had hoped. I’ve only made a couple dollars so far. This post has encouraged me to stick with the program and hopefully over time I’ll see similar improvements in my earnings.
